Well the trip obviously started at Desert Haven and I started taking pictures on the way over to Silver City , However I took one picture and battery went dead. So the pictues start from Silver City and were taken on the way back.

This first picture is leaving Silver City and you see the start of the mountain range in the background.

What you see behind the bushes are tailings from a large open pit copper mine.

Just a short way up the road we come to a view of a historical site called "The Kneeling Nun". By looking over the mine tailings you see the site in the background. You see a single rock outcropping in front of a rock monolith giving a visual simulation of a Nun kneeling in front of a grotto.( A telephoto lens sure would have been helpful.)

The next few shots are of the copper mine itself

Well we are starting into the real mountains.

Oh by the way Truth or Consequences is at  elevation 4242

Here are some views coming down the east side of the mountains into the Rio Grande Valley.

Hillsboro NM is about 30 miles from T or C.

Oh another Apple Festival.
